Formed at the dawn of the progressive rock era in 1969, GENTLE GIANT seemed poised for a time in the mid-seventies to break out of its cult band status.
Closer in spirit to YES and KING CRIMSON, than to EMMERSON, LAKE, and PALMER or THE NICE. Their unique sound blended hard rock and classical music. This 2 CD set, encompasses two shows from the mid-seventies. Disc 1 and part of Disc 2 come from a 1974 concert in Germany and the balance of the second disc contains four numbers from a 1975 show in Philadelphia. The material is drawn from amongst the group’s best work Tracks: Disc 1: The Runaway, Experience, Prologue, Funny Ways, Knots, The Advent of Panurge, Nothing At All. Disc 2: Plain Truth, In A Glass House, School Days, Intro/Cogs In Cogs, Exerpts From Octopus, So Sincere, Free Hand.
