Formed at the dawn of the progressive rock era in 1969, GENTLE GIANT seemed poised for a time in the mid-seventies to break out of its cult band status.
Closer in spirit to YES and KING CRIMSON, than to EMMERSON, LAKE, and PALMER or THE NICE. Their unique sound blended hard rock and classical music. This set released at MID-PRICE was recorded live in New York in 1976. It contains live versions of ‘Interview’, ‘Give It Back’, and ‘Timing’, from the studio album ‘In’terview’ a concept album centring on a fictitious interview based on the music business.
Tracks:
Proclamation, On Reflection, Interview, The Runaway ~ Experience, So Sincere, Exerpts From “Octopus”, The Boys In The Band, Dog’s Life ( Acoustic), Knots, The Advent of Panurge (incl. “River”), Give It Back, Timing (incl. Violin Solo), Free Hand.
