JORMA KAUKONEN was a founding member and lead guitarist with the JEFFERSON AIRPLANE. He also as an off shoot formed HOT TUNA with JACK CASADY the AIRPLANE’S original bassist.
This album, his first solo effort was recorded and released shortly After the AIRPLANE split in 1974. ‘Quah’ is the return to KAUKONEN’s Folk/Blues roots. It is unlike any other recordings from the era. His admiration for Folk, Blues, and Gospel which first surfaced on HOT TUNA’s debut release is linked to the content of this disc, with covers by BLIND BOY BLAKE, and THE REVEREND GARY DAVIS. Includes four previously unreleased tracks not originally found on the vinyl with liner notes by JEFFERSON AIRPLANE biographer JEFF TAMARKIN.
