KATE WESTBROOK is an artist following the professions of both painter and musician. Her musical work centres around her career as a vocalist with her husband British composer and band leader MIKE WESTBROOKS BANDS.
MIKE WESTBROOK since the early sixties has led numerous bands large and small, with amongst others CHRIS McGREGOR’S ‘BROTHERHOOD OF BREATH’. He became a key figure in the development of British Jazz, producing several big band records between 1967 and 1969. In the seventies he worked with the progressive rock band HENRY COW and folk singer FRANKIE ARMSTRONG. In 2006, this album was released music by MIKE WESTBROOK and lyrics by KATE WESTBROOK, and was produced by JON HISEMAN. The album is the story of BRONISLAVA NIJINSKA who was the first important woman choreographer.
