Louisanna born guitarist PHILLIP WALKER has a sterling reputation as a contemporary Blues guitarist, with a distinctive sound honed along the Gulf Coast in the 50’s. In 1953, for over three years he played with Zydeco king CLIFTON CHENIER. ‘The Bottom of the Top’ originally released on PLAYBOY RECORDS was re released by HIGH TONE in 1973. Highlights include his rendition of SAM COOKE’S ‘Laughing and Clowning’. ‘Someday You’ll Have These Blues’ originally recorded in 1975 and initially released on the short lived JOLIET Label and later released by HIGH TONE. One of its many highlights includes Beaumont Blues.
