For a few years in the early 80s Willie Nile had “next big thing” all over him, and he seemed destined for the big time, however his early career was interrupted by various legal problems which led to a pause in recording. After a hiatus of several years he returned to recording and performing in the US and Europe, establishing himself as a highly regarded singer-songwriter. He has released 16 albums with his most recent, The Great Yellow Light earlier this year
On this 2 CD mid-price collection, we have brought together his self-titled debut album from 1980, followed by1981’s Golden Down, and Places I Have Never Been in 1991. Featured musicians include Roger McGuinn, Richard Thompson, and Robbie McIntosh.
