About this release

THE FLAMIN’ GROOVIES were a self assured Garage Rock band from San Francisco that ran the gamut from dirty Rock n Roll to pristine Power Pop.

A true cult band that were always considered to be in a double bind of playing the wrong kind of music at the wrong time, as well as not looking the part in an era dominated by the likes of THE GRATEFUL DEAD and JEFFERSON AIRPLANE.

‘Supersnazz’ was their debut album originally released in 1969. The album is a rollicking good time made even better by the sequencing which offers a full range of surprises. Everything from straight ahead boogie, slow ballads, and 50’s rockers!

We have added as a bonus track the single ‘Somethin’ Else’ which sadly did not even dent the Billboard 200 at the time.

Love Have Mercy, The Girl Can’t Help It, Laurie Did It, A Part From That, Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu, The First One’s Free, Pagan Rachel, Somethin’ Else/ Pistol Packin’ Mama, Brushfire, Bam Balam, Around the Corner.

Bonus Track: Somethin’ Else.
