DAN HICKS was a founder member of the legendary CHARLATANS, one of the early pioneering West Coast bands from the mid-sixties.
Original Recordings was his first solo effort as well as the debut of his ‘Hot Licks’. They perform a refreshing blend of Jazz swing with Country and Western.
Their understated performance style stood in stark contrast to the heavy and acid rock that were en vogue as the sixties became the seventies.
Of the eleven original songs on this disc some would be reworked for their inclusion on future HOT LICKS releases.
This is a vital reissue of HICK’s catalogue and has been out of print for quite some time.
