From 1983 these are the last known recordings from Blues legend BIG JOE TURNER, recorded at The Music Machine, Santa Monica, California.
The set features many of JOE’s songs that became Rock n Roll standards including Shake, Rattle and Roll, and Honey Hush.
Backed by an all star band, including LEE ALLEN, STEVE BERLIN, and fellow Blues Hall of Fame Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson who also guests on vocals on two of the tracks.
Described by the NME as the “grandfather of Rock and Roll”.
