Little Deep Miss Strange is the debut album from Honey Bizarre, the latest venture from theremin-player Gilda Razani and keyboardist and composer Hanzō Wanning.
Having released two albums as About Aphrodite, the duo are back with a distinctively new sound that draws from their backgrounds in electronic, classical, ambient and experimental music. They describe their mission as creating music to make you dance and dream, and Little Deep Miss Strange does just that.
Razani’s expertise on theremin, alongside her use of SOMA The Pipe and aerophone, give a unique textural depth to the music. Paired with Wanning’s mastery of keys, synths and electronic devices, Honey Bizarre prove there is no sound they can’t create, replicate, or reform. There is a real sense of varied intensity that runs both through the album as a whole and often in individual tracks, giving a feeling of discovery and purpose.
