Joe Louis Walker was one of the most exciting and innovative artists in the world of Contemporary Blues. He was an electric blues guitarist as well as a singer, songwriter and producer. His knowledge of blues history is revealed by his use of older material and playing styles. Born in 1949, Walker passed away at the end of April 2025.
His 1986 debut album ‘Cold is the Night’ announced his arrival in stunning fashion, and is made up of all original material. The follow up album ‘The Gift’ released in 1988, is considered by many to be his finest album featuring his bone-cutting guitar work and tight backing from The Boss Talkers, and The Memphis Horns.
